Network Effect

They say it “takes a village to raise a child” – when needed, Protogy makes use of a trusted network of partners and subject matter experts on security, data science, and architecture to ensure the delivery of the right outcomes for clients.

Protogy Engagement Model

Discovery & Assessment

We start by listening. We perform an initial technology health check – understanding your goals, current systems, pain points, and opportunities. This might include interviews with key stakeholders and a review of your IT environment.

Strategy Development

Next, we deliver a clear game plan. This could be a strategic roadmap, a prioritized list of initiatives, cost-saving recommendations, or a risk mitigation plan – whatever is most critical to your situation.

Execution & Oversight

As a fractional CIO, we don’t just hand off a plan. We stay engaged to drive execution – chairing steering meetings, managing vendors, and guiding your team through implementation. We ensure momentum and adjust the strategy as needed.

Review & Evolve

Business and tech landscapes change. We continually measure results against targets (e.g., cost savings achieved, uptime improved, projects delivered) and help adjust your technology course to keep you competitive.

Our Approach: Strategy, Execution, Partnership

Protogy was founded on a simple premise: mid-market businesses deserve the same calibre of strategic technology leadership as large enterprises, but without the exorbitant cost or unnecessary fuss. After years of seeing SMEs struggle with IT decisions – often because they lacked a seasoned technology leader at the table – Protogy was started to fill that gap. Our mission is to empower growing organisations with the insights, leadership, and confidence they need to turn technology into a true driver of business success.

At Protogy, how we achieve results is just as important as the results themselves. There are five qualities we endeavour to embody in every engagement…

  • Be Trustworthy – Protogy earns trust by being honest, dependable and accountable in every client relationship. This means saying what we mean, doing what we say, being transparent about risks and trade-offs, and taking ownership of outcomes.
  • Be Rigorous – Protogy brings structure, discipline and evidence to complex technology and business decisions. Rigour means understanding the context, asking the right questions, testing assumptions and making recommendations that are well considered rather than reactive.
  • Be Strategic – Protogy helps clients connect technology decisions to business strategy, risk, capability and growth. Being strategic means seeing the bigger picture, clarifying priorities and helping organisations make pragmatic choices that improve their future position.
  • Be Clear – Protogy communicates in plain language so that complex technology, governance and risk issues are easier to understand and act on.
  • Be Creative – Protogy stays curious and creative by looking beyond standard answers and exploring better ways to solve client problems. Creativity is not novelty for its own sake; it is the ability to challenge assumptions, reframe issues and design practical approaches that create value.

These values guide how Protogy works, advises clients, and delivers outcomes—building trust, applying thoughtful analysis, aligning technology to business objectives, communicating clearly, and approaching challenges with curiosity and innovation.
